From An Unsafe Boiler Installation To A Modern Worcester Bosch Upgrade
This recent project involved replacing a Vokera Mynute 25kW combi boiler that had originally been installed extremely poorly by a previous owner. Although we had maintained the appliance for the past two years and carried out a significant amount of safety work to keep it operational, the customer was never fully happy with the boiler or the kitchen layout. Once the budget allowed, it was finally time to remove the old installation and start again properly.
Safety Defects Identified On Our First Visit
When we first attended the property, several serious issues were identified with the existing installation. Our priority was to make the appliance safe and keep the customer supplied with heating and hot water until a full replacement could be carried out.
- Flue poorly installed and unsupported
- Loose flue joints with missing screws
- Flue joint buried within the wall
- Flue unsealed internally and externally
The original Vokera Mynute boiler installation presented multiple concerns from both a safety and workmanship perspective. While we managed to rectify the most urgent issues and keep the appliance operating safely, the installation was never ideal and ultimately required complete replacement.
The customer removed the wet wall panelling beforehand, allowing us to relocate the new boiler onto an external wall. This meant the new flue assembly could be installed correctly, safely and fully in accordance with Worcester Bosch manufacturer instructions.

A Better Long-Term Heating Solution
The surrounding walls have now been prepared and are ready for plastering and decoration. The finished installation not only provides the customer with a far safer heating system but also improves the overall appearance and usability of the kitchen space.
