Full Heating System Overhaul – New Combi Boiler, Radiators & Pipework
After purchasing their new home and getting straight into a full renovation, this customer found Tayside Gas Services through our website and Google reviews. They asked us to take responsibility for overhauling the complete heating system and getting it ready for the newly renovated property.
More Than Just A Boiler Replacement
With a major renovation already underway, this was the ideal opportunity to look beyond simply changing the existing boiler. The customer wanted the heating system dealt with properly as part of the wider work being carried out throughout the house.
We were therefore tasked with carrying out a much more comprehensive heating overhaul, including repositioning the new combi boiler into the loft, replacing the existing radiators and thermostatic radiator valves, adding additional radiators where required and upgrading the existing heating pipework.

- Replace all existing radiators throughout the property

- Fully repipe the heating system with 15mm flow and return pipework
Out With The Old
The existing system was being replaced as part of the renovation, giving us the opportunity to approach the heating as a complete system rather than working around the old installation.
Removing The 8mm Microbore Heating Pipework
A major part of this project was the heating pipework itself. Rather than retaining the existing 8mm microbore installation, we were asked to fully repipe the heating system and upgrade the flow and returns to 15mm.
Carrying this work out while the property was undergoing a full renovation meant the new heating installation could become part of the overall project from the outset. The radiators, valves, new boiler position and upgraded pipework could all be tackled together rather than as separate jobs further down the line.
A Complete Heating Overhaul
This wasn't a case of taking one boiler off the wall and putting another in its place. The job involved changing the boiler location, replacing and adding radiators, changing the thermostatic valves and repiping the heating system from the existing 8mm microbore to 15mm flow and returns.

As part of the overhaul, the existing radiators and thermostatic valves were removed ready for the new heating setup.
New Combi Boiler Repositioned Into The Loft
One of the main requirements from the customer was to reposition the new combi boiler into the loft rather than simply replacing the existing boiler in its previous position.
With the house already going through a full renovation, relocating the boiler formed part of the wider plan for the property. The completed installation gives the customer their new boiler in the requested location while the rest of the heating system has also been comprehensively upgraded.
New Radiators Installed Throughout
The existing radiators and thermostatic valves were replaced, with additional radiators also added to the system as part of the new heating layout.
Heating System Ready For The Renovated Property
With the new combi boiler repositioned into the loft, the existing radiators replaced, additional radiators added and the old 8mm microbore pipework upgraded to 15mm flow and returns, this was a substantial overhaul of the property's heating system.
