Another Heating Upgrade Completed By Tayside Gas Services Ltd
This customer originally got in touch through our website looking to modernise and improve the heating system throughout their property.
The existing radiators and thermostatic valves dated back to the late 60s / early 70s and had definitely seen better days. After discussing the options, we agreed on installing new Stelrad Softline radiators throughout most of the property for a cleaner, more modern finish and improved heating performance.
From Outdated Radiators To A Cleaner Modern Heating System
The existing setup was old, tired and ready for an upgrade. The customer wanted a better-looking heating system, improved control and a more efficient finish throughout the property.
We installed new Stelrad Softline radiators across most of the home. These provide a cleaner appearance, better modern styling and come with a 10 year manufacturer warranty.
We also upgraded the thermostatic radiator valves throughout the system to give the customer improved control over individual room temperatures.
Smart Heating Solutions With Minimal Disruption
Behind the scenes, this was a very labour-intensive job due to restricted access and the customer understandably not wanting hardwood flooring lifted or altered.
To work around this, we used Screwfix Tesla extension tails on several radiators where modern metric sizes differed slightly from the older imperial radiators.
The existing heating system was also piped in older Truewell pipe rather than copper, which can make alterations far more challenging due to both the age and material.
As part of the upgrade, we also installed two modern vertical radiators chosen by the customer to really finish off the living room and lounge areas.

Additional Works Completed
Additional works carried out included repairing x2 Myson Kickspace heaters and completing a full unvented cylinder service. A boiler service has also been booked for the coming weeks. Big thanks to City Plumbing UK Dundee for supplying and delivering the materials for this project.
