On 3rd June, the Tayside Gas Services team carried out a full boiler replacement in Dundee, upgrading a tired, inefficient heating system with a top-of-the-range Worcester Bosch 8000+ 32C combi boiler.

The previous setup was a 15-year-old regular boiler paired with an outdated copper hot water cylinder. Due to poor maintenance and age, the system had become inefficient and unreliable—so the homeowner made the smart decision to upgrade to a more modern, energy-efficient solution.

We removed the old system and installed the new Worcester 8000+ in the same location, making use of the existing space while routing a new flue through the attic to meet current safety standards. As part of the upgrade, we also fitted a Worcester system filter to protect the boiler from sludge and debris, helping to keep it running efficiently for years to come.

To give the customer more control over their heating, we also added Hive Smart Controls, allowing them to adjust heating schedules and temperatures straight from their phone or voice assistant.

This installation comes with a 12-year manufacturer guarantee, thanks to our status as Worcester Bosch Accredited Installers. As with all our installs, we’ll also be providing annual maintenance to keep the system running smoothly and to ensure the guarantee remains valid.
